The York Bird of Prey Centre is based in the walled garden at Burn Hall Hotel.Building of the new Centre started in late 2012 and was completed in June 2013, opening to the public on Saturday 15th June.
The Centre is home to over 80 birds with 45 different species and holds 2 flying displays every day. In addition there will be opportunities to meet and handle the birds throughout the day.
There is a gift shop and cafe selling hot & cold drinks, sandwiches, confectionery and a variety of gifts.
The Centre continues to pride itself on the level of audience participation in the displays – So be prepared to get involved. The majority of our birds are hand-reared, safe to handle and you will be fully supervised at all times.
The Centre holds an up to date Zoo License and is registered as required under the performing animals act. We offer a wide range of Hawk Walks, Owl Experiences, and Falconry Courses all year round which may be purchased as a gift voucher for that special occasion.
