The adventure playground in White City provides both after school play sessions?and free open access school holiday play provision. We also undertake play development work in the local area and work with a range of organisations in order to promote the importance of play and playwork.
In open access play provision (all school holidays, 10am – 5pm, Mon-Fri) children are not restricted in their movements, other than where related to safety matters, and are not prevented from coming and going from the setting as and when they wish. Playworkers do not have the responsibility to ensure that children stay on site for a specified period of time. Open access play provision should therefore not be confused with childcare.
Our after school play sessions run from Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. We collect children from ARK Swift, St John XXIII and Wormholt Park schools and escort them to the playground (although we also accept children from other schools if parents can arrange for them to get to us). We offer a space in which children can play freely. During the second half of this three hour period we now also run free open access sessions Monday – Friday between 4:30pm and 6pm. The two sessions coincide.
