The world renowned Museum of Modern Art, or MoMA as it is sometimes referred. The museum has such a great mixture of modern contemporary and classic art. With the like of Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night”, Picasso’s “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” , Jackson Pollock’s Splatter Works and a large-scale chromatic canvases by Rothko all been shown on the fourth and fifth floors. Salvador Dali’s “The Persistence of Memory” is also here. Other artists with works on show include Frida Kahlo and Andy Warhol amongst many others. MoMA was actually one of the first museums to include a section that was dedicated to film as they realised how important cinema was as an art form. The museums film collection is very extensive and includes both classic and contemporary films from around the world.
MoMA has been expanded over the recent years and managed to actually double its gallery space meaning there is even more to enjoy now. MoMA is a place where you can soak up art.
