Stonehenge remains one of England’s most mysterious World Heritage Sites as nobody actually knows just what it is for and how it got there and because of this, no body knows the answers to a lot of the questions that get asked about Stonehenge, such as when Stonehenge was built! There are different websites that claim different things, but the truth is that no one actually knows and that is part of the reason why Stonehenge is such a fascinating place! We believe the stones weigh around 25-tonnes each and this is due to their size, shape and type of rock and density. It is also believed they have been around since the Neolithic age, but again, that is only a belief and not a fact.
You also get access to the visitor centre with this ticket. The site, found on the Salisbury Plain, has inspired myths and legends and wonder for centuries, given nobody knows how it was done an why. A visit won’t provide any answers to these questions, but Stonehenge is nonetheless still an amazing site to see in person. It may confuse you even more in reality as you see just how big the stones actually are and think how on earth did whoever put them there, get them there!
