The Red Rose Cave & Pothole Club was formed in 1946 and was based around the town of Lancaster in the North of England. Since then it has become one of the country?s leading caving clubs with a growing membership of nearly 200 living all over Britain, as well as a number of overseas members.
The RRCPC continues to be an active hub for cavers in the Dales with close links to other northern and visiting clubs. Our members are busy with conservation, digging, photography and surveying work and a good number of members are active in the Cave Rescue. Recent digging and hydrology work related to local flooding issues in Casterton village has raised the profile of our club and cavers in general amongst the local community and the club continues to be involved in promoting the benefits of cavers and caving both locally and beyond. We?re also welcoming new members, not just from the visiting clubs but people living in the area with an interest in caving.?
