Useful Information About Petronas Twin Towers

Designed by an Argentinian architect called Cesar Pelli. The Petronas Twin Towers build started in 1992 and completed in 1998. They stand at 451.9 meters and held the title of world’s tallest building until 2004.

Inspired by Islamic art and architecture with a floor plan based on an 8-pointed star and also famous for their double-decker sky-bridge which connects the two towers on the 41st and 42nd floors. The towers are the headquarters of the national oil company of Malaysia, Petronas.

The towers are built on an former horse racing track (Selangor Turf Club) as part of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre development which also included a shopping centre, hotels and a park. They were constructed using a method called the ‘bundling tube’ system which involves connecting tubes together to create the tower structure. The facade is made up of 33,000 stainless steel and glass panels.
