The Panthéon. With canvas paintings showing the life of Saint Genevieve, the French monarchy and the birth of Christianity, this is France’s most enchanting burial place.
The tombs of Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Emile Zola, Louis Braille and Marie Curie are here and you can enter the crypt to see them.
An exact replica of the original Foucault’s Pendulum which is suspended from the dome. We appreciate it isn’t as famous as other well known attractions such as the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe, but this really is a must-see in it’s own right.
The Panthéon was originally an Abbey having been built to celebrate Saint Genevieve, the Patron Saint of Paris, however in the 18th century, the Revolutionary government converted it from a church to a mausoleum.
