LUPC is a fantastic group of diverse people who love to go underground, or at least they do once they?ve been on a trip with us. Our members don?t need to have any prior experience with the outdoors, they just need to want to try something new! LUPC was established in 1956 and was one of the first university potholing clubs established in Britain (we?re quite proud about this!).
The aim of the Society is:
To train undergraduates to cave and to explore the underground world.
Training:
? Meet on Mondays at 6pm at University square.
? Travel together to Awesome Walls climbing centre.
? What you learn:
o Learn the fundamentals of SRT (single rope technique) and potholing skills required for the more exciting caving trips.
o Develop and maintain high levels of technical proficiency through training and practice.
? Head to the pub afterwards to have a drink and finalise any weekend plans.
