Tickets for John Knox House.
John Knox House is the last medieval building left on the Royal Mile, dating back to 1470, so history is still standing. John Knox was a Scottish minister, a theologian, a writer and a leader of the Reformation. John Knox passed away in 1572 and it’s thanks to his association with the property that they managed to save it from demolition in the 1800’s. See if you can find the time capsule and dragon’s nest that are hiding in the John Knox House bookshop. Soak up the drama of Scotland’s turbulent past at this spectacular building which dates back to 1470. James Mosman was one of the residents of the property in the 1550’s and he also happened to be a friend of Mary, Queen of Scots. However, he was then later executed in 1573 for being a traitor! If walls could talk, we would be at this property for weeks!
