Jill Edwards?blazed the trail by creating the original groundbreaking UK stand-up comedy course that Time Out’s Malcolm Hay hailed as “the place to go for anyone with serious hopes of getting their act together.” Her stand-up comedy classes received a special mention from Ofsted, at London’s City Lit. Jill blazed the trail again by creating the highly acclaimed and the?original Brighton stand-up comedy course in 2005, at award winning premier comedy venue the Komedia, Brighton.
Over twenty years of teaching stand-up Jill’s trained some of the UK’s top comedians, including Shappi Khorsandi, Simon Evans, Shazia Mirza, Hal Cruttenden, Francesca Martinez, Jimmy Carr and his agent Hannah Chambers. Brighton’s own Seann Walsh, Angela Barnes, Paul McCaffrey, Ingrid Dahle and Romesh Ranganathan. Writers including, Time Out’s Tim Arthur, best seller Jenny Colgan and Brighton’s “Being Human” creator/writer Toby Whithouse.
Jill was the BBC’s chosen Comedy Coach in the South for their “Comic Relief” project. She mentored Brighton’s BBC Radio Sussex presenter Neil Pringle with individual stand up comedy lessons, and appeared in BBC One’s documentary “Stand-Up for Comic Relief.”
In twenty years of corporate training Jill has shown a wide range of professionals across the board how to use humour to deliver confident, memorable and engaging presentations that stand out from the crowd, including Imperial College, Oxford University and the Home Office.
