Another windy day at Denholme. This time the wind was blowing from the west which means there was not much wind around the jetty but about six meters away it was blowing, ranging from about force 3 ? 5. Four boats and four windsurfers took to the water all enjoying the sunshine and wind (and a very nice gap in the rain). All of the windsurfers disappeared to the far end of the pond due to the wind direction. We needed to practise towing and because there is no bridle on the back of the safety boat we used the throwing line. Denis, who is recovering from an injury from playing rugby, helped on the safety boat and was learning how to put the throwing line back in its bag so when it?s thrown again it all comes out of its bag again. Not easy. We then had a thirty minute pursuit race. Emily set off first followed by Katie followed by Harry and then Paul who was testing the Laser. Emily held onto the lead until the very last lap. At one stage we thought that Paul might win but then the wind dropped and Katie came through to win just as Emily and Harry and Paul sailed into a calm patch. Well done all of you. We saw some excellent sailing. Thanks to Henry, Phil and John and Nick and to Jo and Bethan who cleaned the Jetty. It?s never been so clean.
