The Ebbw Vale Owl Sanctuary is located in Festival Park in Ebbw Vale, which originally hosted the last British Garden Festival in 1992. It was set up by Malcolm?Jones, who has over 40 years experience and has dedicated his life to rescuing and rehabilitating birds of prey. He started with just a handful of birds but it is now home to over 60 different types of birds of prey, including hawks and falcons as well as many types of owls.
The Sanctuary is also home to a few rescued domestic animals such as a red footed tortoise, guinea pigs and bearded dragons, who reside in the Pet Section.
The Sanctuary is run by volunteers, including Malcolm himself; and is self funded by providing an educational service to schools and fetes. Entry to the Sanctuary is free, but any kind donations made on a visit here are very gratefully received.
Opening times are:-

October to March: 10am- 4pm
