His former home was the location of his arrest. His story is fascinating. Lorca, who was murdered in August of 1936 and just a day after his brother-in-law (who was the new mayor of Granada) had also been murdered by right-wing military authorities. Lorca was a gay socialist at the time of a far-right traditionalism. His remains were never found. His work was then all but made to disappear during Franco’s dictatorship.
