Charleton Farm has been a family run business since 1946 when Robert (Findlay) McQuistan bought the farm. At that time the main produce was raspberries and there were a few dairy cows kept to provide the farmhouse with milk, cream and butter. There were 14 farmhands hired to work the farm and they were paid mostly in oatmeal.
The business has grown considerably since then and today the farm produces a range of seasonal berries as well as its own asparagus and potatoes. As the farm evolved, the old barn and stables were converted into a busy caf? and country gift shop.
Today we invite you to a fun family day out on a working farm. You can pick your own fruit, relax in the caf? with a bite to eat, look around our gift shop, and let the kids play in the play area.
