Calypso Cove opened in 2012 on the site of the former Space Adventure waterpark housed in the Metrodome Leisure Complex. It has an island adventure theme and is home to numerous pirates and their feathery shipmates.
The waterpark was themed by 3D Creations who worked on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean, and features a bespoke 9ft skull that had to be transported in pieces then reassembled in the waterpark.
Also within the waterpark is The Hideout diner on poolside, with a distinct piratey feel and the stocks for wayward children!
Calypso Cove is managed by BPL who operate a diverse mix of sport and leisure facilities across Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Pontefract.
