Having welcomed some of the most distinguished figures from French history over the years, if the walls could talk here, the would have some stories to tell! Loved by King Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Napoleon I & Charles de Gaulle amongst others, who all used it as a retreat. You are allowed to see the Chaumiere aux Coquillages decorated in all their glory, the Queen’s Dairy, which was a gift from King Louis XVI to his wife, Marie-Antoinette and even the emperor’s bathroom, which is a masterpiece of neoclassicism. Some of the art is also just incredible.
