The farm opened in 1977 and is home to a large collection of farmyard favourites such as cows, horses and sheep – alongside some less familiar animals such as alpacas, birds of prey and turkeys. There are also many smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets.
The farm is all about providing the local community with access to animals in a countryside oasis that provides a unique learning experience. It is suitable for all ages but especially young children.
This is why we are so popular with local schools who can arrange guided tours with a member of the farm staff. Throughout the year there are exciting activities on the farm for children to take part in and there are regular workshops and clubs that they can join.
By becoming a Farm Volunteer they can also help us to look after the animals and become part of the team! The Farm is the prefect venue for a birthday party as well!
The farm’s Care Farming provides a therapeutic programme of support that uses animal care and gardening to benefit adults with a variety of learning needs, health conditions, and disabilities.
