Autumn (September) It?s autumn now in the Cairngorms, velvet is coming off antlers and the bulls are strutting their stuff ready for the rutting season. Why not take a visit to see Britain?s only free-ranging herd of reindeer in their natural habitat? Visits go every day at 11am and 2.30pm at this time of year, follow a reindeer herder as you make your way up to the mountain enclosure, walk amongst reindeer, stroking and feeding them as the herder tells you more about them. Situated in the centre of the Cairngorms National Park, you will also enjoy beautiful views of the Cairngorm Mountains. The walk takes around 20 minutes and will cross some rough and muddy ground on the mountainside so make sure you?ve got some sturdy footwear and some nice cosy layers! Spaces are limited so please arrive in good time for your chosen visit, 11am hill trips can sell out soon after 10am when we open. We do not have a pre-booking system available so places are allocated on a first come first served
