The palace gives you a glimpse into how life is lived in a royal palace. Kensington Palace has been a royal residence for over 300 years. Some of the property was opened to the public in 1899 by order of Queen Victoria, on her 80th birthday. Ever since that time it has been both a royal residence and open to the public. You can experience the grandeur of the Grand Staircase, visit the King’s State Apartments, and the King’s Gallery, amongst other areas.

- Kensington Palace has been a royal residence for more than 300 years
- It was where Princess Diana lived after she married King Charles (then Prince Charles) and its now where Prince William lives with his family
- The staircase of the Kings Apartment are surrounded by beautiful works of art in the form of frescoes that were painted by William Kent and the scenes are of historical visitors to the palace.
- The Palace Gardens are incredibly beautiful having been redone in 2012.

How to get to Kensington Palace:
Via Tube/Underground: Queensway Underground Station on the Central Line is about a 10-minute walk to Kensington Palace. High Street Kensington Underground Station on the Circle and District Lines is also about 10-minutes walk to Kensington Palace.
Via Bus: Bus Routes 94, 148, 274 stop along Bayswater Road. Then a short walk. Bus Routes 9, 49, 52, 70 and 452 stop on Kensington High Street.
