Formerly the ?Lakenheath Clay Target Centre? the internationally renowned ground closed in January 2014, this was a devastating blow to shooters in the area who had lost their practice and competition facility. Not long after closing the father and son team started to express an interest in reopening the facility, to ensure shooters could continue to enjoy the well-loved ground.
In January 2015 work got underway on site; a mammoth task faced the small team with rubble to clear, skeet ranges to renovate and plenty of general ground maintenance. A temporary club house was bought in prior to opening, to ensure shooters had a warm and inviting place to sign in and enjoy home-cooked food. Since opening the shooting ground has continued to grow, the reception has now moved to a separate building with a shooting accessory and country clothing shop, with the temporary clubhouse still being used as the caf? and serving a wide range of hot and cold food. The ground holds a range of competitions throughout the year, which are always well received by shooters travelling from near and far to test themselves across the layouts. All of our upcoming competitions can be found on our events page.
