The Gemäldegalerie exhibition, one of the world’s leading collections of painted masterpieces spanning the 13th to 18th centuries including works by the likes of Caravaggio, Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt, Vermeer and Bruegel, amongst others. Some of the most famous works on show include Caravaggio’s Amor Victorious and Botticelli’s Madonna and Child.
With 72 rooms displaying around 1500 works in chronological order including Italian Baroque, Dutch Golden Age as well as lesser-known but still influential German artists. Its also got an impressive section for Spanish Baroque art including works by Diego Velazquez (his portrait of Juan de Pareja) and Francisco de Zurbaran.
